I watch American Idol sometimes, not a regular or fan of the reality show until I saw Adam perform this season. He just seem very different from the rest and could really sing. Besides, he got great style and reminded me of a Super Dollfie. I've been thinking about doing a customized doll as Adam. I chose Volks Alain because he has a similar kind sweetness about it. I did a very quick rough job on this one by painting over the default face up. Just to see if he was able to pass and I am quite pleased with the result. I probably will need to perfect the brows and improve the lips, perhap change the eyes to a more greyish color than blue that he has on now. What's your thought? They are elegant, yet simple at the same time with an interesting story attached to each one of them.
When playing with Miette Lotus(Miruku), I decided to put her in this BSSB outfight and the idea of photographing her in a field of narcissus came to my mind.
I am a big fan of classic film especially Hitchcock's. Being in the SF Bay, how can one not try and incorperate the SF landmarks into the pictures. there is this special scene in Vertigo that I've always wanted to recreat. Eventhough it's not the exact outfit she wore, but I feel what I've gathered have enough of the vintage feel and could passed for an classic look. I took a day off on Friday morning to find the location. And finally, my dream come true. I am so happy that I was able to take these pics. And I think they are probably my favorite. Hope you'll enjoy them. He then asked if I could take a pic of the doll in his camera to show his wife, because she would have love the whole couture feel of the doll. I took some pics for him and then asked if he would pose with my doll. He was so cool about the doll thing.
Welcome to my Doll House : advice needed

My house/living room has been in a work in progress stage for the past two years. Somehow, I kind of stop because I wasn't inspired or haven't found the right thing to continue the process.

As I was selecting pics for the photo exhibit, I came across a picture that might do what I wanted for this room. See, I like city scape and perspective shots, but I was afraid that it will make this room even more masculine, cold and antiseptic. Strangely, the thought of of using one of my doll pics as an art objects to hang on my wall have never came across my mind.

I thought this pic has the certain charm, border line kitschy, but not tacky(I hope). It has the bright color and contrast in mood that this room needs. I had it blown up to 50"x40". I think it's kind of nice. One thing is that now looking at the pic. Since the dolls are blown up so huge. The room and furniture looked almost miniature size. Do you think? What's your thought? Love to hear your advice. Thanks for stopping by and reading this.

Anouk and Dorian have been wearing these school uniform for months now waiting for the location to take their pictures but haven't quite found the right one. Originally I have envisioned inside an old class room or school hall way, but don't know anyone that can take me there for a photo shoot. I wanted a European or classic films aura to them. I also like the idea of them in some type of eerie foggy atmosphere.

Last Sunday morning, I drove to the cemetery to scout for the location and found one that I like. When I opened the trunk to bring out the dolls, I realized that I forgot the camera so I went back later that evening at 7:30pm instead. It was still very sunny, I decided to take a few shots since I was already there. I knew it wasn't the right mood and am planning to go back when I have a chance. I also turned some into black and White and like them much more.

To see BW pics, please check out the link to DOA.
I bought this Volks ltd cat outfit from a friend of mine recently. And have been having a lot of fun playing with different ways of wearing. In the pictures below, Troy is wearing the wearing the wig, gloves and chaps. I didn't want this shoot to be cutesy, so I chose a edgier setting in an alley. It was quiet, but still attracted curious onlookers. Even a police car pull by to see if I were doing anything illegal.

more pic on DOA in your are interested.
this pics was inspired by Wong Kar Wai's new film. very different than what I normally photograph. definitely more challenging taking night pics. Although most of them came out blurry, but I like the effect.

I am quite excited with this new photo series of Wataru. The lighting is different, and has more close up shots than my usual pics. The pictures were taken inside of the US WWII submerine. It has a Star War feel about them(I could be wrong about this because I've never seen the franchise). Anyway, I am very excited about these pics and of coures I have to give the credit to Wataru. Hope you'll enjoy more pics by going to the thread on DOA(Sorry, I still can't post more pics in LJ yet).
His name is Wataru. It means "across" the ocean. There were a few options in that vein that were pirate and weather related, but I thought Wataru suit him best. It's actually the first Japanese name I've ever given to a doll.

I've always wanted a SD17 body for my Heath ever since Reisner came out. But never thought much of Reisner until seeing him again at the Volks Museam at Tenshi no Sato. The idea of having him started to build up since. Another push was after loosing 3 chances on Alain. 1. at the Dolpa in Japan, 2. US on line Lottery. 3. Kerby toy. I decided that it was probably not meant to be. So, I started to refocus on someone that I've been developing a need for and finally got him. Beside looking so gorgeous, I think he has a lot of personality. I haven't been this ecstatic ever since my first Tokyo boy! Please show some love for my new boy WATARU!

more pics of Waturu on DOA here.
http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=188294
